The People Who Were Always Here
Long before there was a town called Kootenai, the land belonged to the Kootenai Tribe—a people who believed they were placed here by the Creator himself. Their covenant was simple but sacred: take care of the land, and it would take care of them. They fished the rivers, hunted the forests, and lived in balance for generations. That reverence still hums through the pine trees and lingers on the lakeshore, like an old song you can still hear if you listen close enough.
